Speed Racer and Mod Mach 5

It's just a sketch right now. Decided to put it as a deviation because I really do like it, but I may not get around to completing it. I've always loved Speed Racer, for one since it was the first anime I was ever really exposed to, and secondly because of my love for sportscar/touring car racing.

The thing about SR though, is that his car was very obviously a take-off on the GTB, or prototype, cars you see in Sebring or Le Mans, but he would compete only in races that could only be classified as touring races. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just unusual for cars of that sort to compete in that sort of race since they're technically meant for extremely high speeds, while touring cars such as the BMW M3 are built for endurance and a maintained speed. Anywho, so I gave the Mach 5 a more up-to-date and more realistic plan, making it a targa top instead of that bubble dome which really wouldn't have even been used in the 60's, and complete with a roll bar. I also gave him a 5-point seat belt (I can't remember what he used in the show ), and gave it headlights and air intakes consistent with those of more modern GTB cars, like below the two arches of the "M" and on the nose cone. I also gave him high-beam headlights, and notice the Daytona wheels XD My tribute to Ferrari!

As for Speed, I decided he could be more bishoujo. Not that he's not sexy to begin with XD
